A Portable Batting Cage you can own and still has enough leftover for a pitching machine. They're lightweight, but plenty strong for backyard use, and we have found that these "over the frame" cages work perfectly for High School and beyond. The elongated portable batting cage of the present invention is comprised of a plurality of accurately shaped frame members which are anchored to the floor or ground by a plurality of flexible cables or ropes. A single piece net is secured to the frame member so as to form an arch-shaped enclosure.
Each frame member is made of a plurality of releasable coupled, high intensity, shock absorbing, lightweight plastic pipe. At least one cable or set of cables extends along the length of the batting cage and is secured to the support surface at points remote from the ends of the enclosure. A second set of cables is also attached to each frame member and secured to the support surface at a point remote from the sides of the enclosure. The net has a plurality of sleeves disposed therein and across the width thereof through which each frame member is extended for connecting the net to the framework.
